HuJI claims responsibility for blast; Premature to comment: NIA

By TCN News,

New Delhi: Terror group Harkatul Jihad-e-Islami (HuJI) has allegedly claimed responsibility for the Delhi High Court blast of Wednesday. In an email sent to the media, couple of hours after the blast, the group said the blast was carried out to press the government to repeal death sentence of Mohammed Afzal Guru.

Sent from the mail id [email protected], the content of the mail reads: “We own the responsibility for today’s blasts at Delhi high court. Our demand is that Mohammed Afzal Guru’s death sentence should be repealed immediately else we would target major high courts and the Supreme Court of India.”

Police cordoning off the area around the blast

National Investigation Agency chief SC Sinha, however, said it was premature to comment on the veracity of the HuJI email. He, however, said NIA was taking the contents of the email seriously.
