An estimated seven million people have been impacted by the floods that ravaged Sindh over the past two months.

“The magnitude of disaster is much beyond the capacity of Pakistan,” Associated Press of Pakistan quoted Gilani as saying Sunday.

He said the government will devote all resources for rescue and later on the rehabilitation of the affected people.

The prime minister announced that Rs.20,000 will be paid to each household so that they can restart their lives.

He added that army helicopters will be used to drop ration bags where road connectivity has become impossible.
