Delhi girl rescued, traffickers arrested

New Delhi : Three people, including two women, were arrested for human trafficking and a girl from Delhi abducted by the gang and sold in Haryana was rescued, police said Tuesday.

The accused, identified as Randhir Singh, Aashiya and Sanjeeda, were arrested from various parts of Haryana Monday.

While Randhir and Sanjeeda were arrested in Kurukshetra, Aashiya was arrested from Sonepat town.

“The girl, missing since July 1, was allured by Sanjeeda and taken to Kurukshetra after she lost her way in east Delhi. Sanjeeda handed over the victim to Aashiya who sold her to Randhir Singh, who is a divorced man,” said a police official.

During interrogation, Sanjeeda disclosed that her husband Jaipal, who was murdered five months ago, used to supply girls in Haryana. After his murder, she took over the business.

She also confessed that her husband had sold more than a dozen girls so far.
