Beijing : The toll in a coal mine gas leak accident in southwest China has risen to 30, a media report said Sunday.
Thirty bodies were recovered from Sizhuang Coal Mine in Yunnan province by late Saturday evening, the Shanghai Daily reported. The accident occurred Thursday morning.
The mine was operating illegally. Each dead miner’s family will receive 660,000 yuan (about $100,000) in compensation, officials said.
