New Delhi: The UK-India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI) Tuesday declared a total of 161 awards for 2011-12 for joint research and education initiatives between the two countries.
The event organised under the fourth UK-India Education Forum was co-chaired by union Minister for Human Resource Development Kapil Sibal and Britain’s Minister for Universities and Science David Willetts.
“The 67 awards are for higher education partnerships involving over 135 institutions across the two countries, while seven are for skills partnerships involving over 14 institutions and 87 are for facilitation of grants to travel between UK and India for developing new partnerships,” said a statement.
The two ministers reviewed educational relations between the two countries.
