Memon tendered his resignation from the provincial cabinet to President Asif Ali Zardari, reported Geo News.

Zardari is the co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party.

President’s spokesperson Farhatullah Babar said that Memon called on Zardari late Friday night at the presidency.

Babar said that Memon regretted embarrassing the party by going to London with Zulfiqar Mirza, a senior Sindh minister who quit in August citing reservations on the government policy about the law and order situation in Karachi that had seen spiralling violence. He had also criticised Interior Minister Rehman Malik.

Memon tendered his resignation from the provincial cabinet, which Zardari said would be accepted by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
