Kushwaha had stepped down as minister in April, ostensibly on “moral grounds”, after exposure of a multi-crore National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam that led to the murder of two chief medical officers.

But he continued to occupy his official residence .

An eviction notice was also served on former health minister Anant Kumar Misra, who had also resigned with Kushwaha.
