New Delhi: Key members of Anna Hazare’s team will meet for two days from Wednesday to plan strategy ahead of the proposed Dec 27-Jan 5 stir for a strong Lokpal bill at Ramlila ground, a Team Anna member said.
Besides Hazare, prominent members like Arvind Kejriwal, Kiran Bedi, Shanti Bhushan and Prashant Bhushan will be attending the core committee meeting.
“Hazare and other members are expected to take a final call on the proposed protest if a strong Lokpal law, which addresses his concerns, is not passed in the winter session of parliament,” a Team Anna member said.
The core committee will also discuss how to go ahead with their campaign in states due for elections next year — Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Gujarat, Manipur, Himachal Pradesh and Goa.
“There will be discussions on all the issues like campaigning in the poll-bound states. But the main reason for the meeting is to decide on the mode of Ramlila agitation, like whether Hazare should sit on a fast or not, or how to mobilise support for the protest,” the member said.
With winter gripping Delhi, Team Anna is concerned about the health of the 74-year-old anti-corruption crusader.
Hazare went on a daylong token fast Sunday and found backing in several parties who also rooted for a strong Lokpal bill.
