New Delhi: The number of pending RTI applications has gone up from 12,242 in April 2010 to 20,232 in September this year, parliament was told Wednesday.
Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office V. Narayanasamy told the Lok Sabha that this was mainly due to the ballooning of RTI applications made to central public authorities.
He said the Central Information Commission had launched a special drive to clear the pendency of appeals and complaints.
