Rehab to launch more self-employment schemes in Delhi

Delhi: Rehab India Foundation (RIF) is to launch another phase of self- employment scheme in Delhi with distributing new cycle Rikshas and different interest free self-employment loans to 51 beneficiaries at a program which will be held on 27th Dec 2011 in Jamia Nagar, New Delhi.

RIF has invited all its previous beneficiaries from Delhi to attend the function being participated by most of its trustees including Chairman E Abubacker and eminent guests from the city.

Self-Employment schemes launched by RIF couple of years back have helped Cycle Riksha pullers to become owners of the Riksha utilizing the interest free loan provided, thereby resulting in an increase in their daily income. The foundation observed 99% repayment trend in the past and the repaid amount is again reused for similar schemes.

Micro financing scheme launched in Delhi last year have made RIF confident of undertaking similar projects in the city, in a large scale manner due to the consistent achievement of 99.68% repayment trend which is far above the set target of 95%.

Established in 2009, RIF is a non-profit organization presently working mainly in Delhi, West Bengal and Assam. Early this year, it was successful in handing over keys of 49 houses as parts of the dream project -Rehabilitation of Calamity victims of Assam’. More than 200 people were rehabilitated to this ‘Rehab model Village’. The project envisions towards rehabilitating one thousand families of calamity hit Assam in the near future.

Drinking water project launched in West Bengal was one such key project undertaken by RIF within the short span of its formation. Thousands of people seems benefited from this small initiative undertook by the foundation in West Bengal.
