Chennai: The AIADMK’s general council and executive committee meeting will be held on the outskirts of the city Friday, a party official said.
“The meeting will be held Friday afternoon,” a party functionary said.
It is the first meeting after the AIADMK stormed Fort St.George, the seat of power in Tamil Nadu, in May this year under the leadership of J. Jayalalithaa.
The meeting also comes close on the heels of Jayalalithaa summarily dismissing her long time confidante V.K. Sasikala and her family members from the primary membership of the party Dec 19 without assigning any reason.
“There may be resolutions on Mullaperiyar dam, Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KNPP), additional allocation of funds to the state by the centre and other issues,” the functionary added.
