Kabul : Seven people, including six children, were killed and four others injured in a bomb blast in Afghanistan’s Uruzgan province Friday, Xinhua quoted police as saying.
The incident occurred in a provincial capital market, about 370 km south of the national capital Kabul.
“Seven people, including six children, died on the spot,” said a police spokesperson, adding that the explosive device was planted inside a garbage bucket along a road in Trinkot bazaar. The insurgents apparently wanted to target security forces.
Four more children sustained injuries in the deadly incident, he added.
The Taliban were yet to comment on the incident.
