G. Venkat Vijay Raghav, finance head (south) of Emaar MGF, and Sunil Reddy were being questioned separately by CBI officials at Dilkusha Guest House – the camp office of the investigating agency.

Both the accused were brought from the Chanchalguda Central Jail to the guest house for questioning.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court Friday remanded Vijay Raghav and Sunil Reddy to CBI custody, respectively for five and three days.

The CBI moved the high court after the special court dealing with CBI cases had refused to remand them in the investigating agency’s custody.

The CBI officials said the questioning would continue till 5 p.m. and the accused would shift back to the jail every day as directed by the court.

Sunil Reddy was arrested Jan 24 and Vijay Raghav four days later in the case, in which Emaar Properties and its associate companies in collusion with some government officials allegedly cheated Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) by diluting its equity in a joint venture for upscale township in Hyderabad.

Both of them do not figure in the charge sheet filed by the CBI Feb 1.

Those charge sheeted include Principal Secretary (home) B.P. Acharya, who allegedly diluted APIIC’s equity as the then vice chairman and managing director of the government nodal agency.
