Sharjah ruler gets honorary doctorate

Paris : Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, ruler of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Paris Diderot.

Sheikh Sultan got the doctorate in recognition of his continuous support to scientific research and the dissemination of culture and the arts.

The award also recognised the ruler’s keenness to continue cooperation between the Arab and other cultures worldwide in a bid to achieve harmony and shape a better future for mankind.

The honorary doctorate was his 15th. Sheikh Sultan has earlier received 14 honorary doctorates from prestigious universities across the world.
