New Delhi : Indian Railways plans to provide internet facility using Wi-Fi in three rakes of the Howrah Rajdhani Express by September this year, as a pilot project, the Lok Sabha was informed Thursday.
“It is a satellite-based system using a Wi-Fi for distribution of internet bandwidth in coaches and the likely date for implementation of this system is Sep 25, 2012,” said Minister of State for Railways, K.H. Muniyappa.
He said the estimated cost of implementation of the project is Rs.6.30 crore.
