“Vilasrao Deshmukh has to resign. It is not the first time that he has been pulled over for corruption and inaction. He had been removed as the chief minister after the 26/11 terror attack and it is time now that the Congress high command remove him from the union cabinet,” Bharatiya Janta Party spokesperson Madhav Bhandari told IANS.

Agreed Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) vice president Vageesh Saraswat adding that the party respects the Supreme Court’s decision.

“We have has seen many corrupt chief ministers from Congress. Three past chief ministers are allegedly involved in the Adarsh housing scam too. We are surprised as to why the Congress high command is silent on these issues,” he said.

Shiv Sena spokesperson Neelam Gorhe, however, reserved comment on the issue. But she stated that the land row issue and Adarsh scam are alarming and it proves that that there is high level corruption in the Congress.

“We will raise this issue in the assembly session and take it forward from there,” she said.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) spokesperson, too, reserved his comments stating that the party would comment after studying the court order on the land row issue.

The Supreme Court Wednesday observed that the transaction concerning a 20-acre plot of land allotted to filmmaker Subhash Ghai in Goregaon, Mumbai, for his film academy was not transparent.

It dismissed an appeal by Ghai’s Mukta Arts Ltd challenging a Bombay High Court order quashing allotment of land.
