Lucknow : Muslim organisations in Uttar Pradesh, including Imam Qasim Islamic Educational and Welfare Trust (IQIEWT) and Muslim Political Council of India (MPCI) have severely condemned the Gorakhpur bomb blasts and discovery of explosives at Faizabad Railway Station.
While condemning the Gorakhpur blasts, IQIEWT secretary general Mufti Mahfuzur Rahman Usmani termed it as ‘anti-human' and ‘barbaric'. "Such mindless blasts will ultimately result in human extinction. They are anti-human and barbaric," he said in a statement.
Mr. Usmani demanded detention and stringent punishment for the culprits and proper treatment for those rendered injured in the blasts.
MPCI president Dr. Tasleem Ahmad Rahmani also condemned these acts of terror in the strongest possible terms.
"It seems the communal and fascist elements are trying, out of utter frustration, to create violence and unrest in the country," he said.
Dr. Rahmani also called upon the newly elected Chief Minister Mayawati to order state investigating agencies to probe the incidents thoroughly so that the atmosphere in Uttar Pradesh may be saved from falling into the grip of violence that these blasts aim at.
He added that such a thorough probe would send a positive message to the length and breadth of the country and help weed out the tentacles of fascism from the country.
