Doha, Qatar: The centenary celebration of Bihar’s establishment as a separate state was organised by the Qatar Chapter of Indian Association of Bihar and Jharkhand (IABJ) and Bihar Foundation here at Al Ghazal Club on 13 April 2012. Bihar’s Tourism Minister Sunil Kumar Pintu and Minister of food and consumer affairs, Shayam Rajak address the gathering through Mobile phone. They congratulated the Bihari community in Doha.
Founder president of IABJ, Qatar, Shakil Ahmed Kakvi demanded direct flight from Gulf countries to Bihar and separate Ministry for NRB as in Kerala and other states. In response, the Ministers assured that issue will be communicated to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion Kakvi said Bihar Diwas aims to bring all the people of Bihar origin around the world on one platform. He congratulated Nitish Kumar for giving a day to Biharis as Bihar Diwas, where they can forget all other identities except one – they are Bihari Indian.
Speaker after speaker heaped praise on CM Nitish as they said Bihar is progressing fast under his leadership and now, Bihar is land of opportunities.
Praising the support of Government of Bihar and Ministry of Tourism for the arrangements made for recent visit of Indian Business delegation from Qatar to Bihar, Hassan Chougule, one among the delegates, said: “we became real ambassador of Bihar to Qatar”. Other members of the delegation including Azim Abbas and M.S Bukhari also addressed the gathering.
Aqeel Ahmed, one of the patrons of IABJ, lashed out at media for “always projecting a negative image of Bihar.”
Chief Gust of the Bihar Diwas Function, M.R Qureshi, First secretary of Embassy of India appreciated the efforts of Indian Association for Bihar and Jharkhand along with Bihar Foundation and assured all support for community developmental program in Qatar.
Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were the Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar Dedy Saiful Hadi, outgoing QP engineer and patron of IABJ Ashok Kumar Sinha, P R Coordinator in the ministry of interior Faisal Hudawi.
