London : Five men were arrested in Britain Tuesday on terror charges.
Police swooped on homes in Luton and arrested the men — aged 21, 23, 24, 25 and 30 — on suspicion of commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism, Sky News reported.
The raids took place at 7 a.m. in Bedfordshire county. However, the operation did not involve armed officers, police said.
The arrests were part of a “pre-planned, intelligence-led” operation by a counter-terrorism unit.
The five men were taken to London for questioning.
Searches continued at their homes under the Terrorism Act, Scotland Yard said.
