“We are aiming to create a niche segment in the pilgrimage hospitality sector in India. The endeavour of our hotels is aimed at providing services beyond the conventional trip to the temple or shrine, an absolute celestial experience of the mind, body and soul to make the religious trip aligned with a leisure holiday,” said Debashis Ghosal, managing director and chief executive officer of Daiwik Hotels.

Ghosal said the five properties will come up at Rameswaram (Tamil Nadu), Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Dwarka (Gujarat), Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh) and Katra (Jammu and Kashmir).

“We are currently focusing on the southern market with our first pilgrim hotel undergoing soft-pilot run at Rameswaram. With an initial investment of Rs.180 crore, these five company-owned hotels will be operational in the next 30 months,” he said.

These hotels propose to provide a complete package for pilgrimage tours. The company has also roped in renowned historian Subhadra Sengupta to create singular content and special programmes for guests who are seeking more than just religious expeditions.
