By TCN News,

New Delhi: Welfare Party of India has criticized the Anti-Terrorism Squad of Uttar Pradesh for lifting up two students of Jamiatul Falah from the Delhi-bound Kaifiyat Express at Aligarh station.

Dr. S. Q. R. Ilyas, general secretary of the Party in a statement wondered “whether we live in a democratic civilized society, where civil and human rights of its citizens are ensured or in a medieval military junta regime where people devoid of basic rights live under fear and threat.”

The whereabouts of the two Kashmiris students of the 50 years old prestigious institution known for its academic excellence and contribution towards the educational emancipation of Muslims, has not been revealed though they were picked up on May 24th.

Welfare Party asked for immediate release of the students and action against the concerned police officials.

Dr. Ilyas reminded the UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Singh Yadav to “restrain all such officials especially in police department, who may derail the confidence of Muslims and other vulnerable sections on whose support, the Samajwadi Party has got absolute majority in assembly.”
