New Delhi : Government-run Coal India Ltd Wednesday said it has targetted production of 615 million tonnes of coal during the 12th Five Year Plan period that began April 1.
The coal production target set by Coal India Ltd for the terminal year of the 12th Plan that ends in 2016-17 is 615 million tonnes, with the assumption that requisite clearances like environmental and forest clearances, land acquisition, law and order issues and evacuation problems are addressed in a time-bound manner, the coal ministry said in a statement.
“This contribution of production has been planned from existing and completed group of projects, ongoing group of projects and future group of projects,” it said.
Coal India has identified 56 spillover projects of 11th Five Year Plan that ended March 31, 2012, and 69 new projects for increasing coal production during the 12th Plan period.
