A total of 115 miners were rescued from the flooded Wangjialing coal mine in Shanxi province in March 2010, Xinhua reported.

One official named Jiang Shijie was sentenced to four years in jail, while the other eight got three years each.

The People’s court of Xiangning county ruled that the nine people neglected signs of flooding and failed to take proper measures before the mine was filled with water.
