Addressing a Press conference today Mufti Abd-ur-Razzaq, president Jamiat-e-Ulema Madhya Pradesh, said that the protest conference is being organised in the backdrop of the recent communal riots in various parts of the state and the apathy of the Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Madhya Pradesh Government and its agencies in containing it and providing inadequate relief measures; Makkah Masjid bomb blast in Hyderabad, a day just before Tablighi Ijtema, to frighten and harass the participants of the religious meet and down-grading the importance and usefulness of Madarsas, the religious seminaries of Muslims, through the proposed formation of Central Madarsa Board.

Mufti Abd-ur-Razzaq charged that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, (RSS), and its umbrella organisations are behind the atrocities being committed on Muslims since 1947 when India became independent followed by partition of the country. The law enforcing agencies which do not have enough Muslims in their ranks are in the forefront in perpetuating atrocities on them.

All encounters are stage-managed as is being revealed in the Sohrabuddin case and even attacks on Akshardham and Parliament were stage-managed, he further charged.

He said if justice is not granted to Muslims then Indian democracy would whither away. He expressed apprehensions that India may again fall prey to further division as the United States and Israel have entered the Indian polity and they would try to follow the example of the Britishers who dismembered India by carving out Pakistan to weaken it.

Mufti Abd-ur-Razzaq said to strengthen Indian democracy Muslims should be empowered by giving them employment and recruiting them in police forces in proportion to their population percentage which is about 13 per cent as per official records.

He informed that Ulemas and intellectuals from all over India are expected to participate in the conference. The chief guests of the conference will be Peer Saeed Miyan Mujadadi, Rector Dar-ul-Uloom Taj-ul-Masajid, Bhopal and Shahid Aqlaque, Member of Parliament from Meerut. ([email protected])
