Hyderabad: The Central Vigilance Commission has sought a report from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on alleged leakage of information related to the ongoing investigations in the corruption case against YSR Congress Party leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.
Chief Vigilance Commissioner Pradeep Kumar told reporters here Saturday that he sought the report after receiving complaint from some people.
“We have called for a report from the CBI. We want to get a feedback from them before taking a final view on it,” he said on the sidelines of the ninth anniversary of Vigilance Study Circle.
Jaganmohan Reddy’s mother and YSR Congress Party honorary president Y.S. Vijayalakshmi had called on the CVC in New Delhi Saturday to complain against CBI Joint Director V.V. Lakshminarayana who is heading the probe into illegal assets case.
Vijayalakshmi accused the CBI official of being vindictive towards her son. She alleged that the official was leaking information related to the investigation to a section of the media.
The widow of late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had also shot off a letter to the CVC last month, complaining against Lakshminarayana.
YSR Congress Party last month also made public call data record of the CBI joint director, claiming that he is leaking information to some media groups, which are running slander campaign against Jaganmohan Reddy.
The MP from Kadapa is currently lodged in Chanchalguda Central Jail here.
