India approves trade concessions for Singapore

New Delhi : The cabinet Friday gave its approval to reduce or eliminate trade tariffs on 555 products for Singapore. The concessions come into effect Dec 1.

The tariff concessions would further enhance growth in bilateral trade with economic benefits to both countries, said an official statement.

The cabinet has also said that since Singapore is a member country of Asean (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), any progress India makes on the free trade agreement with it will be passed on to Singapore.
