Patna : The body of an Assamese youth, who went missing from a railway station in Bihar, was found Sunday, police said.
The body of Pritam Bhattacharjee, 25, who went missing on July 9 from Naugachia station in Bhagalpur district, about 200 km east of Patna, was recovered by the police near an overbridge, police said.
According to police, Bhattacharjee, who holds a master’s degree in physics and was going to Delhi for a PhD enrolment exam, has been traceless after he gave chase to the four youths who had snatched his bag that contained his original certificates and other documents, when the train had stopped at Naugachia station.
Bhattacharjee, a native of Silchar, reportedly told his mother over telephone that he was being “tormented” by four youths who were travelling with him on the Awadh-Assam Express after it crossed Katihar in Bihar.
Soon after his mobile phone was switched off, Bhattacharjee’s uncle Ram Mohan Bhattacharjee, who visited Naugachia to trace him, informed local police.
