Kolkata : In a snub towards alliance partner Trinamool Congress, Congress leaders in West Bengal Monday submitted a memorandum to Governor M.K. Narayanan expressing concern over the alleged worsening law and order situation of the state.
“Today (Monday) we have submitted a deputation to Governor M.K. Narayanan regarding the deteriorating law and order situation of the state. Not only Congress and Left front workers but common people are also facing the onslaught of Trinamool Congress supporters and goons. We have briefed governor about the entire situation and he had said that he will look into it,” said Congress leader Kanak Debnath, who was part of the six-member delegation.
The delegation led by West Bengal Congress chief Pradip Bhattacharjee.
Congress and Trinamool, alliance partners both in the state and central government, have been at loggerheads over various issues for past few months.
