BJD to abstain in vice-presidential poll

Bhubaneswar : Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal Sunday decided to abstain from voting in the vice presidential election Aug 7.

Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik announced the decision here after holding prolonged discussions with senior party leaders at Naveen Nivas, his official residence.

The BJD has 14 members in the Lok Sabha and seven in Rajya Sabha, the total members of which form the electoral college for the election.
