New Delhi : The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has improved and provides better civic services after it has been trifurcated, parliament was told Tuesday.
“The civic amenities in the NCT (National Capital Territory) of Delhi have improved after the trifurcation of the erstwhile Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). The monolithic structure of the MCD was a huge impediment in providing better civic services to the people,” Minister of State for Home M.Ramachandran told the Lok Sabha in a written reply.
The MCD, one of the largest civic bodies which provides services to 98 percent of the total population of the Indian capital, was split into East, South and North Delhi Municipal Corporations.
