Chennai: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Air India entered the final of the 87th All-India MCC Murugappa Gold Cup hockey tournament with hard fought victories here Saturday.
Joga Singh’s 53rd minute goal carried Air India to a 1-0 win over ONGC while IOC edged out Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) 4-3 in the semifinals.
For IOC, who led 2-0 at the break, Hamza Mutitabh (30th), Thimman A (35th), Deepak Thakur (45th) and VR Raghunath (67th) scored while BPCL replied through goals by Tushar Khandkar (40th), Hariprasad (68th) and William Xalco (70th).
