Kullu (Himachal Pradesh) : Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lal Krishna Advani once again criticised the ruling United Progresive Alliance (UPA) Wednesday for the proposed nuclear deal with the US.
“If the UPA goes ahead with the written nuclear agreement the security of the country will be seriously compromised as was done by the Congress government in 1962 when the Chinese aggression took place,” Advani said here while addressing a large election rally.
He blamed the Congress party for the spiralling prices in the country.
“Rampant corruption and lack of economic mismanagement was leading to price rise. This was in sharp contrast to the proper fiscal management during the NDA rule,” he claimed.
“Instead of proper governance the Congress has laid more emphasis on promoting family politics during its rule for half a century.”
“In contrast the BJP ruled governments were better governed. Today, Gujarat is acknowledged by all as the best governed state in the country,” he added.
Apart from Advani, other leaders of the party including Rajnath Singh Singh, Murli Manohar Joshi, Venkaiah Naidu and Sushma Swaraj also held five different election rallies in the state Wednesday.
The second and last phase of assembly polls for 65 seats in Himachal Pradesh will be held Dec 19. Counting starts Dec 28.
