Singapore: Sahara Force India’s Paul di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg finished sixth and 11th fastest in the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix qualifying at the Marina Bay street circuit here Saturday.
Lewis Hamilton claimed McLaren’s fourth pole position in a row clocking 1:46.362, ahead of Williams’ Pastor Maldonado and Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel, the fastest driver in the three practice sessions.
Di Resta will line up on the third row Sunday, leaving behind the likes of Mark Webber and Romain Grosjean in the Red Bull and Lotus respectively.
Mercedes’ Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg did not set a time in Q3 and will start the race from ninth and 10th place.
It was Schumacher who displaced Hulkenberg from top-10 with an impressive lap towards the end of Q2.
India’s Narain Karthikeyan outperformed his HRT team mate Pedro de la Rosa for the second time in a row. They will start 23rd and 24th.
