Hyderabad : Minister of State for Defence Production Rao Inderjit Singh Friday visited the Hyderabad unit of premier defence electronics company Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) to study first hand the vast array of state-of-the-art equipment it manufactures.
BEL Chairman and Managing Director V.V.R. Sastry and General Manager (Hyderabad) I.V. Sarma showed the minister around the electronic assembly, testing and antenna test facilities of the plant.
Electronic warfare systems for the Indian Army and India Navy were also demonstrated, prompting Singh to compliment the unit for the strong capabilities it had built up in the field since its inception in 1986.
BEL's Hyderabad unit specialises in the manufacture of cutting edge electronic warfare equipment that is a force multiplier for all three arms of the Indian defence forces.
