Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Qamar Ahmed said Friday that, “After seeing the response from the earlier Lok Adalat that helped clear many pending challans, we are again organising it.”

The Lok Adalat, jointly organised by the Delhi Legal Service Authority and the traffic police, will be held Dec 9 and 16 at Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Patiala House and Rohini courts.

“Till date, more than 200,000 cases of challans are pending in Delhi. So, I appeal to all the people to come forward and take this golden opportunity to settle the challans. Metropolitan magistrates will be handling the cases at all the four complexes,” said Qamar Ahmed.

The first Lok Adalat in September had settled 44,852 challans.

The traffic police has also arranged an SMS facility to provide information on notices pending against a vehicle.

To know the status of a challan, mobile users can type ‘N’ followed by space and registration number of the vehicle and send it to 50100.
