Hyderabad: Mohammed Abdul Waheed, a 1975 batch Andhra Pradesh forest range officer, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of scam tainted Andhra Pradesh Minorities Finance Corporation (APMFC).
He took charge from joint-secretary of the Minority Finance Corporation, Parveen Baig who was handling the post on temporary basis after the dismissal and suspension of former MD Ilyas Rizvi, following the 56 crore fraud in the corporation.
58 year old M.A. Waheed was holding the post of deputy conservator of forests (Management Information System) and was the chief caretaker of Nehru Zoological Park, for almost two years.
In his first interaction with media, after the announcement, Abdul waheed said that his main aim will be to restore the lost respect of APMFC, and transform it into an effective agency for the financial and economic progress of backward class Muslims.
Waheed assumed the charge of the corporation after Friday prayer today.
