Dammam, Saudi Arabia: Zareena, an Indian woman who was duped by a recruitment agent, has finally some respite. India Fraternity Forum (IFF) helped her fly back home.

Earlier Zareena was approached by an agent with a visa of beautician. She was happy and agreed to fly Saudi Arabia. She later realised that she was cheated and actually her profession in the visa was for housemaid.

Once she reached Saudi Arab, she had no option but to work as a housemaid. She also faced physical and mental harassment from her sponsor, and often fell sick.

She, however, managed to escape one day from the shopping mall, where she had gone with her sponsor. She sought help at a coffee shop in Qateef area, who escorted her to police. She was later admitted in a hospital, where one of the nurses informed her brother who contacted the IFF for help.

India Fraternity Forum then contacted the Indian Embassy in Riyadh, who talked to the sponsor and resolved the issue and helped Zareena return home.

There are a number of cases related to human rights of Indian nationals here in the Saudi Kingdom.
