Islamabad : At least 15 people, including four soldiers, were killed and 25 injured Tuesday when a bus collided head-on with a military vehicle in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, media reports said.
The accident took place on a national highway near Khuzdar, Xinhua reported citing Urdu TV channel Samaa.
Mansoor Khan, deputy commissioner of Khuzdar, however, said only five people were killed and 16 others were injured.
The bus was on its way from Quetta to Karachi.
There were an estimated 70 passengers in the bus. Hospital officials said many of the injured were in critical condition, and the toll may rise.
Police said the accident may have occurred due to over-speeding.
Geo News said the collision occurred between a passenger coach and an oil tanker. The speeding bus collided with the tanker, and then turned turtle.
