Cuba, Russia Review Trade Ties

Moscow : Cuban Minister of Government Ricardo Cabrisas concluded a working visit to Russia on Monday, part of consultations between the two countries” foreign ministries, a diplomatic source informed.

During his stay in Moscow, Cabrisas, who presides over the Cuban-Russian Inter-Governmental Committee for Economic Cooperation, was received by Russian Finance Minister and Vice President of the Ministerial Cabinet Alexei Kudrin.

He also met with Minister of Development and Trade Elvira Nabiullina, First Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Denisov and Chamber of Accountancy President Sergei Sptepashin.

Official talks reviewed the implementation of a loan Russia granted to Cuba as part of an agreement signed in 2006, during a visit by former Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov to the Island.

The development of economic-commercial links was also reviewed, as noted by Cuban Ambassador Jorge Marti.
