New Delhi : A toy replica of a Metro train that travels back and forth on elevated and underground tracks was unveiled Thursday at the Delhi Metro museum here.
“The working model of Delhi Metro, which is approximately 20 feet in length, has been designed meticulously to give visitors the real feel of how a train runs in underground and elevated corridors,” Mangu Singh, managing director of Delhi Metro, said at the inaugural function.
“We will have more such replicas in future,” he added
Singh honoured top 10 Delhi Metro smart card users, who spent Rs.15,000 or more in the past one year, and some volunteers of the Metro Citizens’ Forum volunteers’ programme, at the Delhi Metro museum at Patel Chowk metro station.
He also unveiled new souvenir items like Swiss knives, visiting card holders, digital thermometers and key chains.
According to Delhi Metro officials, around Rs.2,000 worth of souvenirs are sold daily at the kiosk set up by them.
