New Delhi : The labour skills of India’s construction industry will have to meet international standards if it is to be globally competitive, Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath said here Thursday.
“For global competitiveness, labour skills will have to meet the international standards,” he said.
The minister was speaking at the 18th Annual Convention and National Seminar on Training, Skill Upgradation and Competence Development in the Building Industry.
He said human and natural resources were the most important needs of India for development and that the development of human resources skills was crucial.
Nath also said the infrastructure sector would continue to grow along with the country’s other sectors.
