“This is the first time in the country that a state is going ahead with a long-term plan. They (NCAER) will be submitting the final plan in May,” Chandy told reporters after the weekly cabinet meeting here.

He said an NCAER team led by its director general Shekhar Shah made a presentation on the proposed growth plan before the cabinet Wednesday.

The draft of the plan will be posted on the internet and its copies will be provided to all the political parties in the state, Chandy added.

“A presentation will be made before all the legislators later this month. Since the youth will be the focus of the proposed plan, youth representatives will be called in for discussions on the draft. It will also be posted on various social media sites,” he said.

The chief minister said ‘Vision 2030’ would address all long-term issues with regards to agriculture, industry, IT, infrastructure and other sectors in the state.

“This is a route map for our state and we are open to discussions on the draft plan,” Chandy added.
