Hyderabad : Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) and Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) have bagged Airport Service Quality (ASQ) awards by the Airports Council International (ACI) for 2012.
Delhi International Airport (P) Limited (DIAL), the operator of the country’s busiest airport, has achieved another milestone with IGIA being ranked second in 25-40 million passengers per annum (MPPA) category in the world
RGIA, operated and managed by GMR Hyderabad International Airport (P) Ltd., also has been adjudged as the second best airport in the world in the 5-15 MPPA category.
IGIA scored 4.83 on the ASQ scale out of five points and has been recognized as the fourth best airport in the world amongst 199 participating airports across all categories. According to a statement here by GMR Infrastructure Ltd, the airport had ASQ score of 3.02 in 2007, ranking last among 101 airports.
RGIA scored 4.78 in 2012, up from 4.58 in 2011 and 4.44 in 2009. RGIA recently has completed its second phase of modification of the terminal building and has consistently been enhancing passenger facilities.
