Skopje (Macedonia): Belgium continued their winning streak with a 2-0 victory over Macedonia here in the European Zone Group A World Cup football qualifier.
Macedonia had two perfect chances to score in the beginning of the match Friday, but the Belgium players stood strong and took advantage of the defensive lapses by the hosts, reports Xinhua.
Macedonian defender Aleksandar Lazevski lost the ball in the 26th minute and Chelsea winger Kevin De Bruyne took full advantage and opened the scoring.
Lazevski was not up to the mark in this match as he made another mistake fouling Eden Hazard in the penalty area in the 61 minute. Hazard easily scored from the spot to make it 2-0.
Belgium keep the lead in Group A with 13 points same as runners-up Croatia. Serbia is third with four points same as Macedonia in fourth place before Wales (3) and Scotland (2).
