PM to hold two poll rallies in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will address two election rallies Monday, the last day of campaigning for the forthcoming assembly polls in Himachal Pradesh.

“The first rally will take place in Bilaspur district in the (Monday) morning and the second one at Palampur in Kangra district in the afternoon,” a party spokesman said here late Sunday.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi held a couple of election rallies in the state at Shimla and Una Saturday. While her son and party general secretary Rahul Gandhi held road shows in the twin valleys of Kullu and Mandi Sunday.

The second and final phase of polling for 65 assembly seats will take place Dec 19 and the counting starts Dec 28.

Polling for the first phase for three tribal seats of Bharmaur, Lahaul & Spiti and Kinnaur took place Nov 14 in view of likely early snowfall in the high mountain regions.
