Eight killed in road accident in Haryana’s Mewat

Gurgaon: At least eight people died and 29 others were injured, some of them seriously, when a private bus collided head-on with a truck in Haryana’s Mewat district Thursday, police said.

The bus, ferrying passengers from Firozpur Jhirka to Barkali Chowk, collided with the truck carrying building material near Bari Kothi.

“At least eight people died on the spot and 29 were injured. Seven people, who were local residents, have been identified. Some of the injured are said to be in critical condition,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Subhash Sharma told IANS, adding that the death toll could go up.

Those injured were taken to the Mewat Medical College.
