“The chief minister wrote letters to the prime minister, the (union) finance minister and the commerce minister and pleaded for extension of the state’s special industrial package (till 2020),” he said during Question Hour.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma has responded on the issue, he said.

Agnihotri said Sharma recently wrote: “Your demand is justified and the matter is under consideration of the central government.”

The Himachal minister said the central government might extend some special incentives like capital investment subsidy.

He said the state government was also trying to win over the confidence of the investors.

“The government has decided to help investors by not only getting time-bound clearances but also guaranteed approvals from different departments within 90 days,” he said.

He said even after the expiry of the central government’s industrial package, investors continue to show interest in the state.
