AP Tableeghi Jamat chief Nayeemullah Khan passed away

Hyderabad: Gloom engulfed the ever hectic Malleypalli Mosque, headquarters of Andhra Pradesh Tableeghi Jamat, after its chief and one of tallest leader of Tableeghi movement in India Mohammad Nayeemullah Khan breathed his last on Thursday afternoon, after a prolong illness in Hyderabad.

He was 89 years old and was admitted in Kamineni Hospital after his illness became sever.

Nayeemullah Khan, who joined Tableeghi Jamat in 1954, was popularly known as Ameer-e-Mohtaram in AP circles. He was the chief of Tabligi Jamat AP unit for nearly four decades.

Furnished with degree in law from Osmania University, he joined Government service and retired in 1985 as Joint secretary in state department of law.

He dedicated his whole life for the cause of Tableeghi Jamat in Andhra Pradesh. During his tenure as its chief, he lead the Jamat in AP at its pinnacle, making its presence felt in almost all the districts and villages of Andhra Pradesh. During Nayeemullah Kahn’s tenure AP witnessed major state, national and international public meetings of the Jamat, with millions of followers attending it.




His Namaz-e-Janaza was performed on Thursday night after Eisha prayers by his nephew Moulana Obaidullah Khan at Eidgah Bilali in Shanti Nagar. A huge crowd turned up for his last prayers, including many political and religious leaders like Moualana Khalid Saifullah Rehmani, MIM president Asadussin Owaisi, former state minister Shabir Ali, and TDP leader Zahid Ali Khan.

His mortal remains were buried in a graveyard adjacent to Alamgir mosque; special ‘dua’ were performed for Nayeemullah Khan in many mosques in Hyderabad during Friday prayers.
