Islamabad : Newly elected members of Pakistani provincial assemblies of Khyber Paktunkhwa (KP) and Sindh provinces Wednesday took oath, media reports said.
In the Khyber Paktunkhwa (KP) Assembly, out of 124 newly-elected members, 123 took oath. Outgoing Speaker Kiramatullah Khan administered the oath to the newly-elected members, reported Xinhua.
In the province, Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) won the highest number of seats in the May 11 elections.
PTI, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) and Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) have finalised a formula over the formation of government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to which JI and QWP are to get three ministries each, while PTI would hold the positions of chief minister and speaker in the province.
Newly elected members of Sindh Assembly also took oath. Sindh Assembly speaker Nisar Khuhro administered the oath to the newly-elected members.
