Himachal sees marginal fall in mercury

Shimla: There was marginal fall in maximum temperatures across the hills of Himachal Pradesh Saturday. More relief is expected next week as the Met Office has predicted rains and and thundershowers in the state.

“Temperatures across the state have fallen and there was some relief from the scorching heat,” an official of the meteorological office here told IANS.

Shimla’s maximum temperature fell by two degrees Celsius Saturday. The town had recorded a high of 26.9 degrees Celsius Friday.

Similarly, Kalpa recorded a maximum temperature of 25.5 degrees Celsius and Una 38.2 degrees. Both these towns had recorded a high of 26 and 41.4 degrees a day earlier.

Dharamsala recorded a high of 36.6 degrees Celsius.

According to the Met Office, western disturbances would be active over the state Tuesday with chances of rains and snowfall at isolated places.
